Dear Prairie Sky Families & Friends,
Welcome to Prairie Sky School and another exciting school year! We hope your summer break offered you rest, growth, and renewal opportunities and was filled with all good things!
It is a true privilege to be a part of a community where the excitement of a new school is strong and parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic success and social growth. We have a fantastic staff at Prairie Sky School that is guided on the principle of doing what is best for students.
As part of the CBE Education Plan, we remain committed to ensuring:
- Strong foundations in literacy and numeracy so every student develops the skills they need to thrive.
- Indigenous education woven into learning, honoring the wisdom, traditions, and perspectives that enrich our classrooms.
- Student well-being at the heart of our work, creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces where all learners feel they belong.
- Instructional excellence, with teachers working together to design engaging, meaningful learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of our students.
Grade 6 Students Attending Manmeet Singh Bhullar School
Students will be together with their teacher and classmates in the temporary location and will move together back to Prairie Sky School as soon as the construction is complete and the modular classrooms are ready for students.
School hours for Grade 6 students will be adjusted to allow time for transportation to Manmeet Singh Bhullar School:
Monday to Thursday:
9 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.
Friday:
9 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
There will be a pick-up and drop-off bus stop at Prairie Sky School for Grade 6 students who walk younger siblings to school. Supervision will be provided at the beginning and end of the day until siblings can be reunited. We know some families will have more questions about this contingency plan. We are committed to working together to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.
All families can expect to receive information from your child’s teacher before the start of the school year, so you know what to expect at the school on the first day of classes.
If you have questions about the upcoming school year, please don't hesitate to contact the office. We would be happy to help and answer any questions you have. Current office hours are 8:00am – 2:30pm. We can be reached at Prairiesky@cbe.ab.ca or 403-817-3452

Prior to school start-up, our teachers will be composing welcome letters to share with you. Letters will be emailed to you by Wednesday, August 28. It is important to keep in mind that our staffing needs are changing daily. This will most certainly not be our final list. Finally, please understand that we are not able to accommodate parent requests for teachers.
A reminder that all students should come prepared on the first day of school with a backpack containing their indoor shoes, a water bottle, snack, and lunch. We strongly recommend that a change of clothes is sent for those students in the younger grades.
Please check the school website for important updates. https://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/prairiesky/Pages/default.aspx
